The Birch Creek watershed shares a complex set of issues and a variety of stakeholders tied to the health and productivity of the stream and surrounding land in and around the City of Pilot Rock. Concerns include:
Summertime Water Flows
Flooding & Flood Damage
Fish Population Status
Effective Stream & Tributary Utilization By Fish
At this preliminary stage in the planning process, the primary concerns needs to be understood and detailed so that appropriate treatments to address them can be developed. The interagency partnership looks to this effort as a model for a new holistic and systemic planning process – a process that would be enriched through community engagement throughout.
Concerned citizens and stakeholders now have an opportune time to participate in the assessment and planning for the Birch Creek watershed. An initial public meeting will highlight the planning process and project visioning that will serve as a foundation for successful collaboration.
Please join us for our kickoff meeting to learn about the process, and share your views concerning the conditions of Birch Creek. This is the first step towards a new effort for planning for the watershed’s future!
